The greatest basketball player of all time returns to the court for NBA 2K11
In an unexpected, yet extremely exciting turn of events ESPN broke the news today that his Royal Airness himself, Michael Jordan will be gracing the cover of NBA 2K11 to be the games official spokesperson.
Jordan, who is currently a majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats will be the first non-active player to grace an annual 2K Sports title. GameSpot reports that there are rumblings that 2K could also be trying to sign some of Jordan’s team mates from his NBA Championship runs in the nineties to be featured in the game as well.
Hopefully we won’t have to wait long to see the cover or some video of Jordan in action within the game. The NBA 2K franchise has announced their cover athlete for two years straight during game one of the NBA Finals, so I would expect an official announcement from 2K sometime next week.
With EA Sports announcing that Lives name was being switched to Elite today, it has already be overshadowed by the man himself.
NBA 2K11 is scheduled to be released this October, stay tuned to GamingRing for the latest news on Michael Jordan’s return to video games.
