Censor filter changes

I spoke to Mike about the state of the censoring. Regardless of whether we thought it was a good idea or not, I know I wasn't the only admin finding it increasingly hard to maintain.

We tried to find a hack or add-on or some such that'd allow us to filter things a little more sensibly and that wouldn't remove stuff entirely, but couldn't really find anything.

So I suggested to Mike that as one of his primary reasons for making use of the filters was the potential influx of visitors we relax things a little now it's over. So here's how things are going to stand with censoring from now on. Hopefully. It's partly down to you guys.

So, here's how the censoring's going to work:

Racial slurs are still not being tolerated. Rules still stand as when they were outlined here.
Mike still wants you to try and not use bad language excessively for the sake of it.
Given this is my idea and not Mike's (and because, y'know, he's the boss) he reserves the right to ramp the censoring up again if he thinks bad language is getting out of hand. We know that kids aren't going to not learn bad language because they don't see it here, but there's still no need to use it every third word.

So racially offensive language is still a very strict no-no, your common or garden expletives will be generally allowed but if you use them excessively (common sense comes into play here, all being well) Mike'll have no qualms about reversing these changes.

Before anyone asks: No, infractions and bans and warnings received since the censoring was turned on won't be reversed.

And let's not just fill this thread with responses full of swears, eh? Spam's still spam.

Excellent news. I was getting tired of reading "****" all over the place. And a little casual cusin' never hurt anyone. Beside, we don't need to worry about us being the only place kids are learning bad words.

I also saw that all the infractions were becoming more of a deterent towards GR.
