Post AO Version Of Manhunt 2 Will Be Digitally Released Next Week

I’m guessing there’s way more blood in this version. You might remember the controversy behind Manhunt 2’s release back in 2007. *When Manhunt 2 was originally screened by the ESRB, it was mark with the Mark of Death or the Adults Only rating. *What was weird was that despite having the rating, it still could have [...]

Re: AO Version Of Manhunt 2 Will Be Digitally Released Next Week

I have to admit that I'm a little intrigued. I've played both the retail version and the uncut beta, so I'll be curious as to what makes it into this version. Not sure if I like the sound of the phrase "exclusively supports 3D monitors," though; I may be curious, but not curious enough to plunk down hundreds of dollars for a monitor I don't need.

I'm intrigued by this development, but not liking having to get a 3-D monitor to play it.

I tried sending e-mails to both Direct2Drive and Rockstar, but neither one has replied yet. Either they've gotten really good at blowing off would-be customers or they really don't want people to know that this game is coming out again.

EDIT: It turns out you don't need a 3D monitor after all. From what I can tell, the PC version is a port of the Wii version, complete with blood splatters on the main character, new weapons to use in executions (such as a sledgehammer and a glass bottle), and, of course, the executions themselves in all their uncensored "splendor." Like the Wii version, the executions are interactive; you use the mouse to follow the on-screen prompts that pop up to trigger the execution and then follow any other prompts that appear to keep it going. Unlike the Wii version, you can turn the interactivity off if you decide you don't like it.
