WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 Special Edition Confirmed...Details Inside!

Over the weekend, Game Stop and EB Games dropped a bombshell on their website. When out of no where WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 has a special edition exclusively to the X-Box 360. Was it true? Or a simple error on EB and Gamestop's end. I am here to tell you that the special edition is very real and I have the news of the contents on what it includes...

Keep in mind that the special edition version is running at the same price as the regular edition so it's probably going to be a very limited edition run. Here is the content that the 360 special edition includes...

- The game itself
- An exclusive embossed metal packaging
- A bonus disc from "WWE: The History of the Championship" DVD box set
- A limited edition of "The Ultimate WWE Trivia Book"

Nothing over whelming but still getting it for the same price as the regular edition, hardcore SVR fans are sure to pick this up come November 14th.

UPDATE: Just less than twenty four hours later after this news broke, both EB Games and Game Stop's websites have updated listing the special edition price at $69.99 instead of $59.99. And for the lack of extra in-game content that this edition includes...It could very well turn off a majority of gamers who planned to get it at the original price just days ago.

The final boxart may look different, the case...Think the special edition of Halo 2. Thats the metal like packaging.

I was planning to get the game for the 360. so the idea of getting a little bit more for the same price sounds very interesting.

I really don't see why it would be such a hassle to have a Special Edition for the PS2 as well. It's not like DVDs don't work on the PS2, you know. I mean, they already cancelled the PS3 version, so do they really need to shit on us PlayStation owners twice?

This special edition isnt so big so it doesnt matter to me why spend an extra 10 dollars for a silver case and two simple dvd's.

A. For the X-Box 360, it's the same price
B. A trivia book, metal case, and a DVD would be worth the ten bucks, if they did charge extra.

Thanks for the confirming what's in the special edition, and to think I was going to do whatever I could to get a 360 and then get that special edition, it's a good thing I didn't do that.

But it's still a good deal for those getting the 360 version etc.

PS2 gets a ported game, watered down in certain areas, and 360 get even more stuff? makes more sense for PS2 to get a special edition... since you know.... THE GAME FEATURES SOME LESS STUFF.

They cancel PS3 version, and don't even try to make up for it in some way for PS2 owners.

Darkwatch, The collecters edition will be the same price as the regular edition, but as Matt said.... it probally will be very limited.

I will be for sure picking up the Collecter edition.
