New Gears of War Game at E3
Credit: [ Entertainment Weekly ]
The Gears of War trilogy told the epic tale of manic-depressive beefcake super-soldiers with a knack for hiding behind debris. Last year’s Gears of War 3 ended the genre-defining saga. Or did it? Game Informer has revealed a first look at the next entry in Epic Games’ shooter franchise. There’s not much to go on — we’ll learn more about the game next Monday, at Microsoft’s E3 conference — but for now, check out this cover and start theorizing:
My early and almost certainly inaccurate theory: The game’s a prequel. We’re looking at the authorities taking a young Marcus Fenix to the prison cell where he spent the four years before Gears of War 1. The game will then be about a different soldier during the years of Marcus’ imprisonment. Or maybe it will be a sci-fi retelling of The Shawshank Redemption, with the player taking control of Marcus while he befriends an older inmate and slowly carves sad-looking chess pieces. Just spitballing here.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is currently in development at NetherRealm Studios with a projected release sometime in 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. The upcoming title is based on the premise “What if our greatest heroes became our greatest threat?” Well, we’ve had decades of comic stories to answer that one and usually it involves some dark side heroes going evil before getting their comeuppance.
“The announcement dropped some names that will be making their way into the roster including Batman, Superman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman, along with villains Harley Quinn and Solomon Grundy. It would be a big surprise if the likes of Lex Luthor and the Joker didn’t make their way into the game.”

If you’re a fan of the Halo franchise, it’s safe to assume that you’ve already got your eye on Microsoft’s upcoming Halo 4 release. As you might have heard by now, some retailers are set to offer gamers specific pre-order bonuses and thanks to Microsoft, some of those bonuses have been revealed to be in the form of skins for the armor and weapons used in the game. This includes an Arctic Skin for the battle rifle, Pulse, Raptor, Web and Circuit-themed skins for the armor along with a a couple of different emblems. According to Microsoft, retailers will be making their own pre-order bonus announcements in their own time so it is unclear as to which retailer will be offering what. However if these bonuses have managed to capture your attention, be sure to stay tuned as we will keep you updated when retailers make their announcement. In the mean additional images along with a video can be found on the official Xbox website.

The Japanese electronics and entertainment giant is planning a 2013 release for the gaming system, known under the codename “Orbis.” The prominence of consoles as a source of multi-media entertainment is rising throughout the industry, with Microsoft promising big plans for the future of its Xbox as well. Although consoles now can nearly function as computers and tablets, the elimination of hard disc sales would put added pressure on physical gaming retailers.

The UbiWorkshop Edition is designed for people who are obsessed with the storyline of the Assassin’s Creed series. It doesn’t come with any bonus DLC or t-shirts or anything like that. Instead, its extras flesh out the backstory.
The first bonus in this special edition is Assassin’s Creed Subject 4, a graphic novel combining the comic series Assassin’s Creed: The Fall and upcoming sequel Assassin’s Creed: The Chain. This graphic novel tells the story of Daniel Cross and his ancestor, an Assassin in Russia named Nikolai Orelov.
